This week we’re reading stories that offer interesting perspective on a variety of topics, but if I had to pick a favorite, I’d probably select Calories 101 over on Glam Salad.
It’s a great read because it tackles a word that’s often associated with fear and dread. Calories are often misunderstood in our world and this post highlights how our view of this rather neutral descriptor has been skewed. Calories are really nothing more than a unit of measure – a way for us to determine how much energy a food can provide us. Somehow, we’ve come to view this as a bad thing – yet in reality, energy from food is necessary for us to live and for our body to support us in action.
