Greetings! My name is Jessi Boehme (pronounced like “fame”) and I am wickedly excited to be apart of the Around the Plate family. I’d love you all to know who I am and why I wanted to be an Around the Plate intern, so here it goes.
I consider myself to be a down-to-earth kind of girl with spirit and gumption. I am in my young twenties and currently wrapping up my dietetic internship with Central Michigan University. I graduated from CMU with my Bachelor’s of Science in Dietetics and plan to complete my Masters in Nutrition and Science there as well. What can I say? Fire-up Chips!
My family raised me in Muskegon, Michigan giving me a foundation based on unconditional love, endless support, art in all of its forms, an appreciation for the outdoors and the classics such as Rocky Balboa and John Wayne. I have danced since five and through dance learned more about dedication and discipline. I feel this has helped shaped me into an active person, participating in life and challenging myself as I go. Currently, I am in the middle of training for my first half marathon this April – talk about a challenge!
With all of that and more, I have become the young spunky woman I am today with a heavy passion towards health, wellness and nutrition. My dreams as a future RD have changed many times and it is for that reason, and many more, why I love dietetics. There is an infinite amount of opportunities and I know that I’ll always be adding to a wealth of knowledge and blossoming every step along the way. I’m dedicated to a life of learning and look forward to getting the most out of my experience as a virtual intern for Around the Plate.
I leave you with a favorite quote of mine, “I didn’t always know where I was going, but I knew the kind of woman I wanted to be.” I hope you enjoy your time here as much as I do. Cheers!

Welcome aboard Jessi, regards from Hong Kong !
Thank you
Regards from wintery Michigan!
