Its almost amazing how much yogurt my family consumes on a regular basis. That’s why we felt like we hit the mother load when Chobani contacted us to do a review and giveaway for them. Mostly because they sent us gigantic 16 oz. tubs of all our favorite varieties: 0% Peach, 0% Blueberry, 0% Black Cherry, 2% Vanilla Chocolate Chunk, 2% Mango, and 2% Pineapple. It was kind of like we were in yogurt heaven, or at least had a piece of heaven in our fridge.
After the initial exuberance of it all wore off, our thoughts of heaven quickly turned to that of yogurt hell. What on earth were we going to do with all that yogurt!?! Luckily, Chobani had us covered.
If you haven’t visited the Chobani Kitchen yet, you really need to. They provide you with all sorts of recipes so that you never have to worry about what to do with your yogurt again. From savory to sweet, you’ll find the most amazing recipes – all incorporating Chobani yogurt into the mix. So even if you aren’t a yogurt fanatic like me, you can still find ways to incorporate this good-for-you-food into your daily meal plan.
One of the recipes we decided to try was the Blueberry Trifle. We swapped out the heavy cream for skim milk and the sugar for Stevia to try and “healthify” it even further, but other than that we kept the recipe the same. This resulted in a thinner yogurt mixture, but luckily, it still tasted pretty delicious. I wouldn’t recommend swapping skim milk for the heavy cream though if you are looking to impress your fellow diners. The visual appeal and texture will not be as intended if you do. A better way to cut down on the calories would be to serve miniature versions of the trifle so you can keep calories in check without losing that “wow” factor.
The blueberry trifle made for a great dessert and I can’t wait to try more recipes from the Chobani Kitchen. Although we might go more savory next time. The Turkey Burger with Chobani Horseradish Sauce seems to be calling my name!
